Incremental Backup
W2B is the first backup system written in PHP allowing you to do incremental files backup. By this way you use less storage space and less resources of your web hosting hosting to do backup. After a full backup done regularly only the new and modified files are stored.
Files Backup
Add folders to backup from the integrated folders browser. And apply filters :

Databases Backup
Can backup local or distant MySQL databases. The backup is done by selecting the tables you want to backup :

Our tables backup system does not use the mysqldump functionality which lock the access to your database during the process. With W2B your website is still available during the backup.
Backup & Data Encryption
To ensure the security of your data all the backups can be encrypted on your web hosting with a strong encryption using a key phrase of your choice.
All the passwords are encrypted in the database with a strong and unique encryption key for each website. Then if your W2B data are stolen they cannot be restored on another server.
Backup to FTP
- Store your backup to any FTP, SFTP or FTPS, if it is supported and compatible with your server.
- Enter the name of the folder where you want your backups to be stored.
- Split of archives to control the files sizes, ensuring quality transfer during the allowed maximum execution time of your server.
- Automatic clean of archives older than X days on the FTP server. Test your server before to use it. Unlimited number of FTP servers.
Backup to Dropbox
Dropbox is a very popular cloud storage. If you do not have a Dropbox account you can create a 2Go free account. You can control the folder where you want to store your backups, and add all the Dropbox accounts you want. Old archives are cleaned after the number of days of your choice. Restorations from Dropbox are fully automatized you do not have to manipulate files.
Backup to Amazon S3
Amazon S3 is a professional, highly secure and cheap cloud storage, used by other backups systems competitors. We do not do a subleasing of their services, you control your backup storage cost, you have the best price. you can try it for free with 5Go of storage. You have the control, and can test all amazon s3 storages parameters (SSL, reduced redundancy), files are automatically encrypted on storage server. Old archives are cleaned after the number of days of your choice. Restorations from Amazon S3 are automatic without files manipulations.
Backup to Email
You can store your backups to any emails. For each email you can control :
- The maximum size of attachments : split archives to not reach your web hosting allowed maximum upload size.
- The maximum number of emails sent by day : to do not abuse of free emails providers.
You can send your emails with :
- phpmail
- sendmail
- SMTP
- TLS SMTP
- SSL SMTP
If they are supported by your server. You can test email account before to start to use it. Unlimited number of emails.
Backup to Local Folder
Select any folder on your server from the folders browser as a destination to store the backups archives. Automatic clean of archives older than X days. Unlimited number of folders. The archive encryption protect your backup of intruder but not of web hosting HD failures.
Double Backup Storage
To ensure the transfer of your backups even if one backup storage system is down you can send backup archives to 2 different storages : Dropbox + Emails, Amazon S3 + local, email + FTP, local + email, FTP + local… Any combination is possible. The system will still try to send the archives to the down system. If after several hours the failing system is still down it will be automatically removed from your backup. You are informed by email.
Unlimited Free Cloud Storage
You can manage and use multiple free Dropbox accounts to store your backups. Several 2Go free Dropbox accounts can be more than enough to backup your website. You can use one for each databases, one for each of your scripts, one for each of your galleries… With the incremental files backup you use less storage and use less resources. If you have several website and servers you can use the FTP of another website to store your backups. You can use Emails accounts to store your backups.
Automatic Backup
All the backups tasks are automatically done using the cron job of your server. If your web hosting has not this functionality you can add a 1 pixel gif to the pages of your website to get it. Plugins for your favorites web applications will be developed during the next months to use the internal cron existing in most of them.
Schedule Backups
Control when your backups are done and with what regularity from 1 hour to 1 year. You can activate the resources saver to allow backups to be done only during the part of the day where there is less traffic on your website. You can start, abort, or postpone a backup on next cron.
Manual Backup
You can download a zip archive of your files, configured tables or complete database at any moment, with 1 click.
Log Report
Receive daily, weekly or monthly emails with all the backup activity details.
Security Checks
If any error is detected during backup you are informed by email. The system can optionally do security checks and you are informed by email :
- New or deleted tables in the databases,
- Abnormal backup size variation alert,
- Allowed monthly bandwidth usage reached,
- Cannot connect to database alert,
- Cannot connect to FTP alert,
- Email error alert.
Integrated Restorations
As backup are splitted and encrypted you should use the integrated restoration system. You can restore incremental and full files backup or database backup without archives manipulation. You can restore :
- From FTP server, Dropbox or Amazon S3, with automatic download of archives,
- From local backup.
- From a local directory, where you have sent archives with your FTP client,
- From uploads, sending archives files from your desktop,
You have the choice of where you can restore files :
- For database :
- Download a Zip archive of your backup,
- Restore in the original database,
- Restore in the database of your choice.
- For files :
- Download a Zip archive of your backup,
- Restore files in the origin directory,
- Restore the files in the directory of your choice, using the integrated folders browser.

Control when your backups are done during the day. To offer the maximum of power to pages when your website has the most of its visitors.
Auto Clean Old Archives
You can decide for how long you keep archives of your backups. Old archives are automatically cleaned on FTP and on your web host after a number of days that you have decided.
Bypass Shared Web Hosting Limitations
- Bypass the maximum allowed upload size, with the split of archives.
- Bypass the maximum execution time. The backup can be interrupted.
- Bypass the maximum memory usage. You do not need more than 8Mo to encrypt files of more than 4Mo.
- Bypass the missing cron job. Add 1 pixel in your pages to do automated backups.
Multilevel Administration
To have a complete system you have a multilevel administration. You can control the access to functionalities of each user.
Multilingual
Website 2 Backup v1.0 is only in english, but is multilingual ready. You can create the translation by creating a new language file based on the existing english. Each user can choose its own language.
